The Polisario Front strongly condemns the expansionist policies of the Moroccan occupation state in the occupied territories of Western Sahara

On Thursday, Dr. Sidi Mohamed Ammar, representative of the United Nations Front, sent similar letters to Mr. Jean-Pierre La Croix, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations in charge of peace operations, and Mr. Colin Stewart, Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Western Sahara.
In his letter on behalf of the Polisario Front, the Sahrawi diplomat expressed strong condemnation of the Moroccan occupation state's intention to establish a "new Atlantic port" with an extensive infrastructure some 70 kilometers north of Dakhla in the occupied parts of Western Sahara.

The letter pointed out that the Moroccan project to be implemented in the occupied city of Dakhla is yet another example of the annexation policies of the Moroccan occupation state, which aims to consolidate and normalize its military occupation and the illegal annexation of parts of Western Sahara in flagrant violation of the legal status of the territory as a territory subject to decolonization and basic principles. International port of humanitarian law, pointing out that the port to be established will be used as a new tool through which the Moroccan occupation state will intensify looting and massive depletion of the region's natural resources.
The Sahrawi diplomat stressed that the new Moroccan project is a dangerous provocative act that runs counter to the spirit of the peace plan and violates Security Council resolutions, including resolution 2468 (2019), which called on the parties to "refrain from any actions that would undermine or facilitate UN-facilitated negotiations." To further destabilize the situation in Western Sahara. "
The Sahrawi representative of the United Nations recalled the recent letter sent by the Secretary-General of the Frente POLISARIO, President Ibrahim Ghali, to the Security Council, which drew the Council's attention to Morocco's escalating and destabilizing actions threatening to undermine the United Nations peace process in Western Sahara and sowing the seeds of renewed conflict. In this regard, the Sahrawi diplomat stressed in particular the Sahrawi President's assertion that while the Frente POLISARIO remains fully compliant with its obligations under the ceasefire and related military agreements, the Sahrawi people retain their legitimate right to respond to all acts of aggression committed by a State. Moroccan occupation in order to consolidate its illegal occupation of parts of our national territory.
In conclusion, the representative of the Polisario Front of the United Nations urged the international organization to shoulder its responsibility and take all necessary measures to ensure that Morocco refrains from such provocative actions that will only aggravate the situation on the ground and undermine any possibility of advancing the already fragile United Nations peace process in Western Sahara.
